we specialize in vintage mid-century modern furniture and props for the entertainment and advertising industry, as well as special events. we also offer items to own - please check on the website for items available to purchase marked 'retail' or make an appointment to stop by the studio.
generally monday-friday 10am-5:30pm and at all other times by appointment. we ask that you always contact us prior to coming by to ensure there will be someone at the studio.
if you would like to schedule a pickup or drop off beyond the stated hours please schedule prior to the day.
after hours assistance without an appointment may incur a $150 fee.
weekly: all items are on a weekly basis (5 days) unless other arrangements have been made. extended rentals may be possible, however only if the item is still available.
longer term: please let us know which items you are interested in and for how long you anticipate needing them and we will send you a quote and the availability.
oops! i'm late: if the item is returned after the agreed upon date and time the lessee agrees to pay for the additional rental week as well as any expenditures that are incurred as a result of a conflicting previously scheduled rental.
pickup vs delivery:
lessee hereby assumes any and all responsibility for the method of delivery from YHC, the safekeeping of items as well as the return of the items. any moving blankets loaned out by YHC may be subject to fees, particularly if lost or damaged. amounts specified on invoice regarding the number used and replacement values.
pickups: lessee is more than welcome to pick up the items if he/she has their own vehicle and assistance.
lessee hereby assumes any and all responsibility for any physical movement or injury with lessee’s own workers compensation, general liability, and auto liability coverage. 67 west street has two elevators that accommodate freight as well as passenger use. YHC shares the building with many other tenants and any visitors must treat the property, elevators, and tenants with respect. If any damages are incurred as a result of any employee of the lessee and that can be proved by witness or video evidence the lessee agrees to charge the credit card on file for specified damages.
for events: for safety of the items as well as lessee’s own - we highly recommend delivery with our courier service for larger furniture. We are happy to discuss which items are very heavy and require professional movers.
film, television, commercial renters: as we are familiar with how 'the business works' regarding rush needs - we understand that there are times where you need last minute items and we will try to be accommodating as possible, but in all other instances ask for a week to 24 hour minimum window to properly pack up the rentals for safe transport.
delivery: if you are unable to pick up we are more than happy to have a reliable delivery service take the items from our doorstep to yours. please just let us know where they need to be taken, what you are interested in ordering, and your desired delivery timeframe and we'll get you pricing information as quickly as possible.

installation: if renting for your special day, we understand that you will want to enjoy every aspect of it and we agree that you should! we'd love to work with you to make your day as lovely and stress free as possible. we can help in the organizing and placement of the items that best fit with your vision for the space. please just let us know if this is something you're interested in and we can discuss further.
placing an order:
we are constantly expanding our inventory so we may not have everything listed on this site. if you are looking for something very specific that you do not see here please let us know and we may already have it or can get it for you. all orders must have a signed rental agreement with accompaning certificate of insurance before they can leave our studio.
corporate rentals / a la carte rentals: please email us at with the job information (company/job#&name), requested rental dates, and the item number (on the bottom left hand corner of each photo) and we'll get back to you as soon as possible with availability and pricing. when all parties are ready to move forward we'll send you a formal quote/contract/move forward with credit card authorizations/deposits/etc.
styling: we also would love to help put together a package (that fits within your budget) for your table, photo booth, etc and are more than happy to arrange a consultation to do so. there is a base fee of $150 for the service for simple packages (this amount will be credited toward your rental order should you choose to book.) assistance with styling is possible for larger scale projects and we are happy to discuss pricing on a per job basis as no two are ever exactly the same.
changed your mind? we realize sometimes things change... you're welcome to adjust your order up until a week before an event and the deposit amount will be applied toward the new items you've chosen from our inventory. please keep in mind that availability is limited and on a first come first serve (and deposit paid) basis but we will do our best to work with you.
full disclaimer on rental agreement but applies to purchased items as well. all items are in 'as-is condition'. the inventory has many vintage items and makes no warranties regarding the condition, quality, made or implied representation, creative licenses or intended use of said items. you are renting items that have been loved for many, many, years. we believe all of our items are in good (or excellent!) condition of use but its always best to keep in mind that these are often times 50-60-70+ years old! there may be small imperfections due to hand crafting/ and general wear and tear but we are more than happy to describe any major flaws and of course happy to have you meet with us to check over the items prior to your event. with that being said, we do hold a deposit and credit card authorization for all items. the lessee should always use the rented items in a careful manner in which they were meant to use and may not alter any item in any way without prior written approval. as a result the condition of the item when returned should be as it left the premise. the deposit is half of your negotiated rental cost and will be returned as soon as the order has been checked back in with no damage or loss due to mis-use, negligence or theft less a 10% mandatory fee to cover wear and tear.
any damaged items will be charged to the credit card within 7 days after the return (we will always make sure you are aware we are charging the card and the rates will be on the contract/invoice) or may be paid via certified check.
by placing an order the lessee agrees to indemnify and hold harmless yellow house collective and its agents and employees, harmless against any claims of any sort resulting from any activities in connection with the products being leased.

forms of payment: visa, mastercard, american express, jcb, business check (please check with us first!) or certified check are accepted. there is a 3.5% service charge for credit card trasactions.
deposit: a deposit is 1/2 total rental amount is due at the time of contract signing for events. for commercial rentals please see below.
balance: the balance is due for weddings/large scale events 2 weeks before delivery/pickup. any last minute additions can be added on the bill after but must be paid by 10:30am on the day of the pickup.
for a la carte rentals (ie - film/tv/commercials) the balance is due on the day of pickup by 10:30am (no items are allowed to leave the premises before that has been completed.) for credit card transactions: by completing our credit card authorization form you authorize that the rental/purchase and any subsequent damages upon return of rental (of course, we'll discuss with you prior to charging.) for check payments: we still require a credit card authorization for loss/damages/extended rentals/etc. we will not charge the card without first discussing with you.
budgetary concerns: we try our best to accommodate your budget for industry professionals as well as independent renters. please let us know up front any concerns and we'll try to take that into consideration when quoting.
once you receive your final invoice please be sure that it includes everything you need. once the rental agreement is signed there are no refunds!
